Dave joined Johanson & Yau in 1980 and has been a partner in the firm since 1986. In his role as partner, Dave represents a wide variety of businesses and individuals and provides accounting, tax planning and general business consulting services to owner-managed businesses and executives. He also oversees the firm’s financial services affiliate, JY WealthCare, LLC, which provides comprehensive financial planning in the ten critical planning areas using an approach called Method 10. He also holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities licenses and a California insurance license (Lic. #0E01220). Dave serves clients within a variety of industries including wholesale distribution, manufacturing, professional services, health care, real estate and not-for-profit.
Dave maintains active involvement in a variety of industry and community organizations. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA). Dave is also a member of the San Jose Rotary Club and serves as a board member for the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame. He has directed his community investment through participation in Young Life and Church of the Chimes in San Jose.
Dave has been a resident of Silicon Valley since the early 1970’s. He graduated from Archbishop Mitty High School. Dave attended San Diego State University earning his Bachelor’s degree in 1979. Dave lives in Willow Glen with his beautiful wife and two wonderful daughters.
