Sheryl L. Hinshaw, CPA

Sheryl joined Johanson & Yau in 1994 after spending eight years with a large independent firm in Los Angeles. She specializes in tax planning and compliance services for individuals, estates and trusts. Sheryl is also experienced in various aspects of wealth preservation such as retirement planning and specialized planning for stock options. She provides services for a variety of clients, including small corporations, partnerships and their owners, start-up companies, charitable trusts and private foundations. Sheryl is a speaker on wealth preservation and estate planning.
Professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a member of the Santa Clara County Estate Planning Council and is an active member in Vistage International, an association of corporate executives.
As an important part of giving back to the community, Sheryl represents the firm on the board of the Stanford-MIT Venture Lab, and is a resource with the organization ElderCare Matters®.
Sheryl graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara and earned her Master’s in Taxation from Golden Gate University. She is securities and insurance licensed which provides many of her clients more than just the typical tax and accounting services (Lic. #0D84349). Born and raised in Silicon Valley, Sheryl enjoys the local arts and environment, and the small wineries of the Santa Cruz Mountains.
